The Host organiser of the 24^th EUCYS is The Young Scientists of Slovakia in cooperation with the Ministry of Education, Science, Research and Sport of the Slovak Republic.

The Young Scientists of Slovakia 

The Young Scientists of Slovakia is a non-governmental, non-political, voluntary association of natural persons and legal entities which are interested in involving youth in science and research.

The Young Scientists of Slovakia achieves its purpose to carry out or support initiatives aiming at promoting interests of young people in science. 

The objectives of the Young Scientists of Slovakia are as follows:

• increasing the engagement of children and youth in science, research and technical disciplines, and their motivation to select their future professional career in the field of science, research and development,
• support creative thinking of youth and increase their interest in being engaged in informal learning in the field of science and research,
• searching for talented children and youth, aged from 10 to 20 years, with the aim to work in the future in science and research,
• creating appropriate conditions for the development of youth talent in the field of science and research,
• popularisation of science and technology among children and youth,
• creates and strengthens relationships between the institutions of research and development, schools and young people who are interested in science, research and innovation,
• implementation of the best working practice from the field of science and research to talented children and youth at national, European and international level. 

The Young Scientists of Slovakia delivers its objectives through the following activities:

• organises trainings, seminars and workshops aimed at increasing the engagement of children and youth in the issues of science and technology,
• organises conferences – congresses for young researchers as specialised activities for the development of presentation skills of talented young people,
• organises various festivals, exhibitions and competitions for children and youth aimed at popularisation of science and technology as well as searching for talented children and youth,
• creates and publishes specialised publications focused on helping young people to explore the elementary knowledge in the field of science methodology and to present their research projects and the results of their work,
• organises holiday camp stays for children and youth,
• organises excursions and specialised stays for talented youth through the places and institutions that are in some way dedicated to research and development,
• organises Scientia Pro Futuro – the National Advancing Competition of Scientific Projects for Secondary School Students as pre-competition to: the European Union Contest for Young Scientists (EUCYS); Intel International Science and Engineering Fair (Intel ISEF); International Sustainable World Project Olympiad – Energy, Engineering and Environment (I-SWEEEP); International High School Environmental Project Olympiad – Global Environmental Issues - US (GENIUS Olympiad); China Adolescents Science and Technology Innovation Contest (CASTIC); Educational Institutions International Research Projects Contest (MEF),
• organises the National Advancing Competition in the field of research, ecology, water technology and management as a pre-competition to the World-Wide Contest for Talented Students – Stockholm Junior Water Prize (SJWP),
• provides advisory activities in project management, financial management and financing of projects, and advisory activities in the planning, implementation, continuous assessment and evaluation of the projects,
• provides advisory activities in the field of management in the non-profit and public sectors with focus on strategies, systems and tools of management, marketing and promotion,
• applies modern information-communication technologies, production and design of web pages, dissemination of information through the Internet, production of information bearers,
• produces concepts, analyses and studies, and elaborates various programmes and strategic documents,
• provides planning and implementation of research in the field of youth policy and work with children and youth at regional, national, as well as international level, and publishes the results,
• and is responsible for other activities related to the objectives.
