The 2012 Intel® Educator Academy EMEA is a conference dedicated to science education professionals from Europe, Middle East and Africa. Drawing together leading figures from Teacher Professional Development, STEM policies (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics), the Academy will be an opportunity to share best practices and to explore proven, innovative methods of engaging students in pursuing scientific careers. The Intel Educator Academy concept brings together most dedicated educators and government officials from around the world to improve science education and the quality of science competitions. Educator academies are being held at worldwide level in the USA and at regional level in Asia & Pacific, Latin America and EMEA. The 2012 meeting will be held in Bratislava, Slovakia, on September 23 – 26, along the European Union Contest for Young Scientists (EUCYS). Our strategic partners of his year's edition are: EUCYS, European Schoolnet and the Young Scientists of Slovakia. During these two and a half days we will be working on improving and scaling best practices in STEM education for governments, science museums & science centers, biggest and most effective NGOs from the region as well as international and national science fairs organizers. Throughout keynotes, lectures, moderated panel discussions and workshops we will suggest best engagement models for different stakeholders, which will be put together in a form of white paper created after the conference. We will also have the chance to see the biggest regional science fairs held each by European Commission.
